futureDecide\u2122 \/ ERDP Definitions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> A <strong>\u201cService\u201d<\/strong> is defined as the intersection of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A set of users<\/li>\n<li>A set of \u201ccontent\u201d to which those users are provided access<\/li>\n<li>A set of functionalities relevant to the users and content<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are five main types of futureDecide\u2122 \/ ERDP Services at present:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>\u201cSubmission Service\u201d<\/strong> supports online processing of applications by applicants<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>\u201cReview and Admin Service\u201d<\/strong> supports online processing of reviews by reviewers, and also support monitoring and management of a competition by users with ProgramAdmin status<\/li>\n<li>Optionally, a <strong>\u201cSelf-Assessment\/Preview Service\u201d<\/strong> may be provided to enable prospective applicants to respond to a subset of application questions in order to assess whether they are a good fit for the program and should invest the time necessary to make a full submission.\u00a0 Use of a Self-Assessment \/ Preview Service can save time and money for a program, since it has been proven to reduce the number of unqualified applications<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>\u201cProject Monitoring Submission Service\u201d<\/strong> supports collection and evaluation of performance and value data throughout the lifecycle of a funded project<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>\u201cProject Portfolio Monitoring Review and Admin Service\u201d<\/strong> enables monitoring and management of a portfolio of funded projects, including support for expert verification and roll-up of data to support program-level performance and value analytics and reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The functionalities of a Service are defined using <strong>\u201cService Properties\u201d<\/strong>, which consist of 200+ options that can be configured in setting up a Service.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These consist of customized labels, references to content files, \u201cswitches\u201d that turn features on or off, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u201cContent\u201d<\/strong> consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Input Content<\/strong>, which defines the set of client-specific questions or input requirements from users<\/li>\n<li><strong>Output Content<\/strong>, which defines templates for standard and\/or client-specific outputs or reports that are based on processing the inputs<\/li>\n<li><strong>Guidance Documents<\/strong>, which are client-specific step-by-step instructions and\/or terms and conditions associated with a Service<\/li>\n<li><strong>Platform Content<\/strong> consists of generic screen labels and instructions that appear on user interfaces and is not client-specific<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Content other than Platform Content is defined in structured <strong>\u201cContent Files\u201d :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Input Content is defined in various formats corresponding with the module that processes that content.\u00a0 All input content files are structured using xml (xtensible markup language)<\/li>\n<li>Output Content is defined in report templates structured using the Apache Foundation\u2019s Velocity scripting language<\/li>\n<li>Guidance Content is defined in web files written in html (hypertext markup language)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A <strong>\u201cUser\u201d<\/strong> is an individual registered on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>An <strong>\u201cEnterprise\u201d<\/strong> is a public or private sector organization registered on the platform.\u00a0 Optionally, one or more <strong>\u201cBusinessUnits\u201d<\/strong> can be defined as subsets of an enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>\u201cSubscription\u201d<\/strong> is an association between a User, a Service, an Enterprise, and optionally a BusinessUnit.\u00a0 A subscription can be \u201cactive\u201d (in which case a user may login) or \u201cexpired\u201d (in which case, login is not permitted).\u00a0 Subscriptions automatically expire at the end of the calendar year in which they were made.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a
